Between August 19-22, 2024, the four-day Democratic National Convention was held in Chicago, Illinois. As planned, the convention confirmed the exit of President Joe Biden and welcomed Vice-President Kamala Harris's nomination as the presidential candidate. The  convention happened amid complex national and international political dynamics, including Israel Gaza war, inflation, healthcare, immigration, and abortion. These dynamics were covered, but there was a major enigma. The speeches from several politicians, activists, and famous people covered political issues around almost all the continents in  World, but none mentioned Africa, despite all the wars, humanitarian tragedies and exploitation rare mineral and natural ressources on the continent.

On Tuesday August 6, 2024,  Vice President Kamala Harris, the Democratic Party's presidential nominee, has selected  Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz as her running mate. The choice was expected. Following the nomination, they attended their first campaign rally in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. They were welcomed with  chantes by  very enthusiastic audience and delivered well applauded speeches and remarks..

The much anticipated event around the World just happened: US President Joe Biden is standing down from the US Presidential elections. It is  an historic event in the US Political history.  President Joe Biden announced his decision to stand down and end his candidacy for re-election on July 21, 2024, stating that it is in the interest of the country. With the decision, a first in the US political history, the eyes are now pointed to the potential candidates and a never see competition between the selected Democratic candidate  and  former US President Donald Trump.

Former President Donald Trump is officially the Republican Presidential Candidate for   November's US presidential elections. His running mate will be  Ohio Sen. J.D. Vance who, according to several reports, was selected on his son  Donald Trump Jr's advice despite  being a strong critic turned ally.  The announcement was made on the first day of the Republican National Convention  at the Fiserv Forum in Milwaukee, where  former President Donald Trump  appeared with a bandage on his ear and very emotional just two days  after he was wounded in an assassination attempt at a Pennsylvania rally on Saturday evening.

The much anticipated first debate between US President Joe Biden and  former President Donald Trump occurred on Thursday, June 27, 2024 from 9:00 PM to 10:30 PM EST in Atlanta, Georgia. However, as expected  the highlights were more on the drama, the distanced skirmishes and the clashes between the two US presidential candidates, marked by bitter attacks,  demeaning each other and strong stances. This time, the debate organizers did not allow talking over each other as it happened in previous debates  when  the behaviors led to  an apparent dismay of the debate moderators and the impression of comic acts. But still, some dramatic moments were  unavoidable.
