The Philadelphia Eagles have beaten Kansas City Chiefs, the two-time reigning champion, to win the Super Bowl 59 (LIX) and the 2025 NFL championship. With the win, the Philadelphia Eagles have secured the fourth Super Bowl title in NFL franchise history. A highly anticipated event marked NFL Super Bowl: the half-time performance by the star Kendrick Lamar, the singer, songwriter, and dancer, who had a successful year at the Grammy Awards, winning five prizes, including the song of the year for Not Like Us. He was joined by celebrities Samuel L Jackson and Serena Williams.
The Super Bowl LVIII was played on February 9, 2025 at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana, commonly known as the Superdome, a multi-purpose stadium and the home stadium of the New Orleans Saints of the National Football League.
The Philadelphia Eagles were in the Super Bowl, the last time, in 2023 against the Kansas City Chiefs. While the Philadelphia Eagles led for most of Super Bowl LVII in Glendale, Arizona, the Kansas City Chiefs won. It was the fifth Super Bowl for the Philadelphia Eagles. The Philadelphia Eagles won in Super Bowl in 2018 against New England Patriots and lost Super Bowls in 1981, 2005, and 2023.

The top candidates for MVP title from the two teams were the two quarterbacks: Saquon Barkley, RB, Philadelphia Eagles and Patrick Mahomes, QB, Kansas City Chiefs. Patrick Mahomes was looking to win the league MVP the third year in the row, after winning MVP and the Super Bowl in the same year in 2023 and 2024 since 1999. Other odds included Chiefs' Patrick Mahomes as the favorite, followed by Saquon Barkley and Jalen Hurts of the Eagles.
The competition between the two teams was a large picture of the rivarly between the quarterback and the runningback. For the Kansas City, the win was expected to be their third ring in five years, and Patrick Mahomes hoped to lead his team to a repeat of its 2019, 2023 and 2024 victories. The Philadelphia Eagles were expected to win their second Super Bowl trophy in the franchise history.
The two teams were in the different spots in their conferences at the start of the playoffs for 2024-2025 season. In the NFC, the Eagles went into the playoffs ranking the No. 2 seed, whereas in the AFC, the Chiefs entered the playoffs as the No. 1 seed. In their first playoff matchup , the Eagles went against their Packers. They defeated the Packers, 22–10. In AFC, Kansas City Chiefs beat Houston Texans 23-14.

A Match Dominated by PHI Eagles from the Beginning to the End
The Philadelphia Eagles dominated from the beginning with a very well organized offense and defensive line. By the mid of the first quarter, they had scored 7-0, with the touchdown by Jalen Hurts after 27 yard loft to Johan Doston. However, the Kansas City Chiefs maintained their challenge, despite penalties on both sides.
Kansas City Chiefs' Patrick Mahomes appeared struggling in the first half, throwing multiple interceptions.
Eagles' rookie Cooper DeJean made Super Bowl history picking off Patrick Mahomes ' pass on a third-and-long and returning it 38 yards for a touchdown to push the Eagles' lead to 17-0 against the Kansas City Chiefs.
The second quarter ended with Eagles leading 24-0 score. The Eagles' defense completely dominated the first half, with Jalen Hurts showing efficiency and accomplishing 11 of 15 passes for 123 yards and a touchdown pass to A.J. Brown and an interception.
The third quarter was very intense, but Philadelphia Eagles continue to dominate the game. Both teams continued to play a highly offensive game, with the Eagles leading 24-0 towards the end of the third quarter. Less than 5 minutes before the end of the third quarter, the Eagles scored a field goal and led the game by 27-0. Then Jalen Hurts passed the ball to Devonta Smith and scored to reach 34-0. The Kansas City Chiefs tried to come back. Just a minute before the end of the 3rd quarter, they scored for the first time but could not complete the 2-point conversion. The third quarter ended with 34-6.
As the fourth quarter got going, PHI Eagles held a 34-6 edge. Kansas City Chiefs started with an intensive offense drive trying to come back from the potential loss. But PHI Eagles kept their momentum, pushing both the defense and offensive lines and scoring 40-6.
Towards the end of the 4th quarter, Patrick Mahomes passed to DeanDre HopKins who scored a touchdown leading to 40-14.
In the end, theKansas City Chiefs were able to score a touchdown and a field goal, minutes before the end of the game, leading to the score of 40 for PHI Eagles and 22 for Kansas City Chiefs.
It was the end, and against the predictions, Philadelphia Eagles won Super Bowl LIX 40-22.
Philadelphia Eagles QB Jalen Hurts delivered outstanding performances, maintaining the momentum throughout the game, with the outstanding performance of A.J. Brown and Cooper DeJean. Despite so much drive, Kansas City Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes was not able to deliver the usual performance.
Patrick Mahomes was named Super Bowl LIX MVP, 3 years after after being named the MVP of Super Bowl LIV and a year after being MVP in Super Bowl LVII.
