The four-day Democratic National Convention is launched less than three months before the November 2024 presidential elections. It will include major events and welcome famous politicians, stars, and activists.
As the Democratic National Convention is starting, the Republicans have their official candidates already in action for more than a month. Around month ago, Former President Donald Trump was officially nominated by the Republican Convention in Milwaukee,a few days after he survived an assassination attempt.
Former President Trump was officially nominated following a debate with President Joe Biden. President Joe Biden's questionable performance during the debate worsen the standing of the Democratic Party in the polls and led to his decision to exit and the nomination of Vice-President Kamala Harris. Former President Donald Trump chose Senator J.D. Since then, the Democrats have gained momentum of the race and Kamala Harris is running neck and neck, even outperforming Donald Trump in the polls, with a significant increase in fundraising.

Eyes are On Vice-President Kamala Harris To Make History.
Eyes are on Kamala Harris to make history. If she wins the November 2024 elections, she will be the first woman, the first Black woman, and the first person of South Asian descent, the second Black person to become President of the United States of America.
Among expectations from Kamala Harris are policy on Israel Gaza war, how she plans to handle the challenges of inflation, the costs of food, medical care, housing, and childcare. Her chances for a win lay on the performance in key battlegrounds especially Georgia, Pennsylvania, Michigan, and Wisconsin. Many protesters against or for Israel Gaza war are expected to flood Chicago streets.
Unlike the GOP convention in Milwaukee, most key Democratic Party past and present federal, state and local official and leaders, and activists are expected tp attend, including Democratic presidents and first ladies, except for the ailing Jimmy Carter.
In fact, the GOP Convention in Milwaukee missed the attendance of, among other well-known Republican leaders and officials, former President George W. Bush, former vice president Mike Pence, Utah Senator Mitt Romney, Alaska Senator Lisa Murkowski, Lousiana Senator Bill Cassidy, and Maine Senator Susan Collins.
Among those scheduled to speak are President Joe Biden, First lady Jill Biden, Former president Barack Obama and Former first Lady Michelle Obama, Former President Bill Clinton and Former First Lady and former presidential candidate Hillary Clinton, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez of New York, Sen. Bernie Sanders of Vermont, Second gentleman Doug Emhoff, Sen. Raphael Warnock of Georgia, Brandon Johnson, mayor of Chicago, Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries, Rep. Grace Meng of New York, Convention committee chair Minyon Moore, and many more...
International activists and political leaders have been invited to attend. These include Congolese former presidential candidate Martin Fayulu, the leader of the coalition Lamuka and Guinean opposition leader Cellou Dalein Diallo. Sources close to Martin Fayulu said that, after the DNC convention in Chicago, he plans to travel to Washington DC, to advocate and plead for the intervention of the International community to stop the invasion of Eastern DR Congo by Rwandan dictator Paul Kagame's Rwandan Defense Forces (RDF) troops under the cover of M23 rebels (see here: DR Congo - US - Rwanda: US Government Imposes Sanctions Against Leaders of AFC- M23 - Twirwaneho Rebels in DRC).
Former President Barack Obama, Former First Lady Michelle Obama and Illinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker are scheduled for Tuesday, August 20, 2024. Vice-presidential nominee and Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz and Former President Bill Clinton are expected to speak on Wednesday, August 21, 2024.
Vice President Kamala Harris will officially accept the DNC presidential nomination on Thursday, August 22, 2024.
