LA Lakers (LAK) have been loosing. They were 1-4 in five games, while LeBron James was abscent due to a swelling in his knee. Then, on Saturday, Feb 6, 2022, LeBrown James, a forward player, was cleared to be ligned up, durirng the game against NY Knicks on Crypto.com Arena. He did rise up to the challenge: LA Lakers were able to beat the NY Knicks, 122-115.
When LeBron James was on the sideline dealing with the swelling knee condition, LA Lakers dropped down to ninth in the Western Conference standings and seemed resigned to a losing season.
Then LeBron James returned and confirmed the expectations from LA Lakers's fans and others: LA Lakers are highly competitive when the forward and MVP player LeBron James is on the court. Earlier in the game, the LA Lakers trailed, at some point, by 21 points.

The NY Knicks were counting on RJ Barrett. RJ Barret did what he can, scored a career-high 36 points and managed to push the game to an overtime when he got a 3-point bucket just eight seconds before the end of the game. It pushed the game further, but LA Lakers, hence LeBron James won, won 122-115 overtime.
LeBron James was able to play 39 minutes and 55 seconds and to score 29 points, 13 rebounds and 10 assists, extending his 25-plus point performace to 19. During the game, Anthony Davis came second with a high performance of with 28 points and 17 rebounds,
On the NY Knicks side, two players had outstanding performance. R.J. Barrett scored 36 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists, while Julius Randle scored 32 points, 16 rebounds and 7 assists.
With the win, LA Lakers, trailing 26-28, in the West have improved their chances to becoming a competitor for the 2022 NBA playoffs.
