Nikola Jokic won with 65% of the votes or 875 votes. The two competitors, Joel Embiid and Giannis Antetokounmpo, respectively each, received 705 and 595 total points. With the win, he matched the prior achievement of Giannis Antetokounmpo who won NBA MVP title for 2018-19 and 2019-20 seasons.
To win, Nokila Jokic showed a highly competitive edge during the season with career highs or outstanding achievements in points (27.1), percent in field goals (58.3%), rebounds (13.8), blocks (0.9) and steals (1.5) per game and free throws (379) and 3-pointers (97) in total.

The votes for Nikola Jovic appeared to have been motivated by several factors, but mostly on how he managed to maintain Denver Nuggets's drive despite the fact that two of the key players were out, due to injuries. In fact, Denver Nuggets reached the playoffs, despite the fact that Jamal Murray was completely out durring the season due to injury and Michael Porter Jr. only played 9 games.
