The long-awaited new 2018 MacBook Pros have been released by Apple. The first shipments of models with standards features arrive this week-end. On the surface, the new 2018 MacBook Pro looks like the 2017 MacBook Pro. However, the resemblance may stop there. Here is what AroniSmart Team has learned.
AImprovements across the lines for the new models
models include a brand new butterfly key mechanism to enhance a quieter experience. Tne new models are built with the 8th-generation Coffee Lake chips with quad-core chips in the 13-inch models and 6-core chips in the 15-inch models.

The SSD storage capacities have doubled up to 2TB for 13-inch models and 4TB for 15-inch models. The 2017 13-inch models had up to 1TB , whereas 2017 15-inch models in 2017 had up to 2TB.Both 13-inc and 15-inch models feature a True Tone for both the display and the Touch Bar, and up to 4TB of SSD storage.
Apple has said that the 15-inch model is up to 70 percent faster, and the 13-inch model is up to two times faster, than the equivalent 2017 models with seventh-generation Intel Core processors in benchmarks.
2018 MacBook Pros feature Bluetooth 5.0, up from Bluetooth 4.2. for the 2017 models, with the same 802.11ac Wi-Fi. The new MacBook Pro would be the first Mac to support Bluetooth 5.0. and it is expected the other Mac lines may follow..
Price Point No Changing
The prices did not change much: 13-inch models start at $1,799 and 15-inch models start at $2,399 in the United States. The price differential between 2018 and 2017 models will show in configure-to-order, especially from storage options add-ons
What Major Change
The major change comes from upgrades to Intel's new 8th generation 6-core processor. The new processor speed of 2.2GHz with a turbo boost clock of 4.1GHz, aligns with the turbo boost clock of last year's best CPU option. However, the added cache capacity and speed improvements, boost the performance of 15-inch model, even for a RAM comparable to the RAM of 2017 modelsTV will get major improvements. It will be called Apple TV 4K and will benefit from a 6-core A10X Fusion processor and 3GB of RAM.
