On Monday March 25, 2019 Apple kicked off "It's show time" event at the Steve Jobs Theater on the company's Apple Park campus. During the events, 4 major offerings were unveiled: Apple tv+, Apple News+, Apple Arcade, Apple Card.
Among the products and innovations unveiled are:
- Gadgets and hardware:
- 4th-generation 1080p Apple TV, known as Apple TV HD
- AirPods with new retail box that includes image of AirPower charging mat
- Software and Apps:
- Apple News+' subscription, for $9.99 a month, integrating magazines & other publications, including Wall Street Journal, LA Times, 30 French-language titles, etc.
- Apple's macOS Mojave 10.14.4 with Apple News+
- New TV App on third-party smart TVs
- Apple TV+ services with Apple's unique programming
- Apple Arcade targeting cillions of gamers on iPhone, iPad and Mac
- updates for iOS 12.2, tvOS 12.2 with new Animoji and HomeKit TV support
- Collaboration with several media stars including Oprah Winfrey, now working on live book club and two documentaries for Apple TV+
- Finance:
- The launch, later this year, of a new credit card linked to Apple Pay and built right into the Wallet app, in partnership with Goldman Sachs.
- The card will be optimized for Apple Pay but still work like a traditional credit card for all transactions.
- Card transactions will be tracked to allow spend tracking and budgeting. The transactions will be listed in the Wallet app with color-coded categories like Entertainment, Food and Drinks, Shopping, and more.
- Spend notifications will allow to track unusual transactions.
- Apple Card will offer weekly and monthly color coded spending summaries.
- All payments will be confirmed with Face ID or Touch ID along with a one-time unique dynamic security code.
- To maintain security and privacy, Apple will not track the stores a customer shopped at, the product or service purchased, or the amount spent.
