The SSD storage capacities have doubled up to 2TB for 13-inch models and  4TB for 15-inch models. The 2017 13-inch models had  up to 1TB , whereas 2017 15-inch models in 2017 had  up to 2TB.Both 13-inc and 15-inch models feature a True Tone for both the display and the Touch Bar, and up to 4TB of SSD storage.

Apple has said that the 15-inch model is up to 70 percent faster, and the 13-inch model is up to two times faster, than the equivalent 2017 models with seventh-generation Intel Core processors in benchmarks.

2018 MacBook Pros feature Bluetooth 5.0, up from Bluetooth 4.2. for the 2017 models, with the same 802.11ac Wi-Fi.  The new MacBook Pro would be the first Mac to support Bluetooth 5.0. and it is expected the other Mac lines may follow..

Price Point No Changing

The prices did not change much: 13-inch models start at $1,799 and 15-inch models start at $2,399 in the United States. The price differential between 2018 and 2017 models will show in configure-to-order, especially from storage options add-ons

 What Major Change

The major change comes from  upgrades to Intel's new 8th generation 6-core processor. The new processor speed of 2.2GHz with a turbo boost clock of 4.1GHz, aligns with the turbo boost clock of last year's best CPU option. However, the added cache capacity and speed improvements, boost the performance of 15-inch model, even for a RAM comparable to the RAM of 2017 modelsTV  will get major improvements. It will be called Apple TV 4K and will benefit from a 6-core A10X Fusion processor and 3GB of RAM.

In summary, the 2018 Macbook Pro appears to outperform the 2017 models. Are the improvement worth upgrading? AroniSmart Team will give an opinion when the models are tested.
