UDPS President Etienne Tshisekedi to Form a Parallel Government

The self-proclaimed President of the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), Etienne Tshisekedi, President of the opposition party UDPS has declared that he will form a parallel government next week.

Rwandan President General Paul Kagame has suspended four of his top military closest aides, in what appears to be yet another sign of a rift within the Rwandan military junta.
The military officers suspended and placed under house arrest on late Tuesday January 17, 2012 include the Chief of Staff of the Reserve Force Lt. General Fred Ibingira, Military Intelligence Chief Brigadier General Rutatina, the head of External Intelligence Colonel Dan Munyuza, and an army division commander Brigadier General Wilson Gumisiriza.

On January 10, 2012, The USDepartment of State announced Publication of 29th edition of The World Military Expenditures and Arms Transfers WMEAT). The report published a comprehensive set of metrics on military expenditures and other macro economic indicators for countries around the World. According to the report, most of the rich Middle-east states and the poor countries of Africa are among the most militarized. The report covers the period of  1995-2005.

The long awaited report on the April 6, 1994 shooting down of the plane carrying the Rwandan and Burundian presidents Juvenal Habyarimana and Cyprien Ntaryamira and their staff was published earlier this week. The report by experts appointed by the French Judges French Judges Marc Trevin and Nathalie Poux (see our article here) has pointed to the fact that the missiles that shot down the plane may have been fired from three positions around the Kanommbe International Airport, located in the zone that was controlled by the Rwandan government forces, known as FAR. The most accepted version to date was that the missiles were fired from a close area of Masaka, which is adjacent to Kanombe. FDLR Chief of Staff General Leodomir Mugaragu Killed by a Commando

The FDLR Chief of Staff, General Leodomir Mugaragu was killed on Wednesday night January 11, 2012 by a military commando, believed to be from Rwanda but working with and under the cover of Congolese Local Defense Forces known as Mai-Mai Guides, sources within  MONUSCO tell AfroAmerica Network. The commando killed him inside his residence in an apparent assassination after infiltrating the FDLR defensive lines in Walikale and Masisi, Kivu, Easten Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC).

UDPS Accuses MONUSCO of Siding with Joseph Kabila

The November 28, 2011 controversial elections in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) were expected to draw international attention. Yoweri Museveni Reunites With The Prodigal Son General Paul Kagame

General Paul Kagame and his family spent the 2011 Christmas weekend in Uganda. The break the family took in Uganda, although barely mediatized by the press in the two countries, may nevertheless signal a major geopolitical realignment in the Great Lakes Region of Africa.
In the recent days the two presidents and their two families have been spending a lot of days together. In late July 2011, Yoweri Museveni went on a four-day visit in Rwanda, touring several official sites. The high note of the visit appeared to be perhaps when Yoweri Museveni surrounded by his wife Janet and his influential daughter Natasha Karugire, who is also his personal advisor, toured the ranch of the Rwandan President Paul Kagame. The US State Department have rejected the results of the elections in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC). In an open rebuke contained in the December 20, 2011 statement, the US Statement Department says:

“The United States is deeply disappointed by the Democratic Republic of the Congo Supreme Court’s decision to uphold the electoral commission’s provisional results without fully evaluating widespread reports of irregularities. We believe that the management and technical execution of these elections were seriously flawed, lacked transparency and did not measure up to the democratic gains we have seen in recent African elections.”

Herman Cain, AfroAmerica Network Man of Year 2011

Herman Cain, AFROAMERICA NETWORK MAN OF YEAR 2011.
He is perhaps better known as the “999” man, after his original proposition on how to overhaul the United States tax system. Black man, born in poor but, according to Cain “happy” black family on December 13, 1945 in Memphis, Tennessee, his father held many jobs as a farmer, a janitor and a chauffeur, whereas his mother was a domestic worker. His humble beginning did not destine Herman Cain for what was to be a successful professional career and multiple accomplishments, leading up to becoming a top Black Republican Presidential candidate in 2011.
