Ex-Rwandan Ambassador and Minister Setting Up Armed Opposition?

Sources within the Rwandan Military Intelligence (DMI) services inform AfroAmerica Network that a former ambassador and minister within the Rwandan Patriotic Front government is forming an armed opposition. The armed opposition is to be based in the Eastern Democratic Republic of the Congo and potentially in Northern Burundi.

According to the sources, the former ambassador and minister (NDLR: name withheld by AfroAmerica Network), who is currently based in a Western country, has been working with Rwandan military intelligence operatives in shaping up the group. One of the DMI operatives, known as Abdallah A.(NDLR: name withheld by AfroAmerica Network), is currently in an Eastern Africa/Indian Ocean country, with an official refugee status. He was briefly detained by Rwandan Security Services, when he was accused of failing to accomplish an intelligence mission. After his release, he left the country with his dependents and has been living in the Eastern Africa/Indian Ocean country, while awaiting for a resettlement for his dependents to Europe.
The sources add that the activities to start recruitment operations in Eastern DRC are being coordinated by a certain Jean Damascene Yada. On the surface, the armed opposition group would appear a genuine opposition to the Rwandan government. However, the sources within DMI affirm that the group will be an extension of the DMI. The purpose is to maintain the chaos in the DRC, while shifting away the pressure from M23 rebels.

Rwandan government is under heightened international pressure after The United Nations Security Council accused Rwandan Military and Government leaders of forming, arming, and supporting M23 rebels. M23 rebels have been accused of multiple war crimes and crimes against humanity. Their leader, General Bosco Ntaganda is wanted by the International Criminal Court (ICC) at the Hague.

Meanwhile, faced with drastic cuts in international aid, the Rwandan Government, with its never ending warmongering adventures in the Great Lakes region, is becoming less and less able to financially support its oversized military. There is already growing discontent within the ranks of the Rwandan Defense Forces, following increasing delays in their monthly pay and a high number of casualties suffered while supporting M23 rebels.

Hence, the new armed opposition would serve two purposes: shift the internal focus away from M23 rebels, demonstrate that Rwandan Government has legitimate security concerns, and maintain chaos in Eastern DRC to continue the plundering of Congolese natural resources to cover the Rwandan military expenditures.

    My dear friends,

    To all Afro-American readers;
It looks like none of you has an intelligence iota. Afro-America is an American tool or spy agent to extract what’s going on into the opposite side of their project in DRC. Which is the balkanisation and partition of the Eastern of DRC. Learn the ‘Clinton Foundation’ and the ‘Carter Center’ then you will both understand the reality. You are all trapped as frogs….wake up!

how come this dictator doesn’t learn from his mistakes? this news may be true, we had other warnings way before M23 invasion that Kagame will attack Congo again but it seemed unbelievable at that time, like it seems to be now! yes it is hard to understand how, after being pressurised because of M23, and having foreign aid cut-off Kagame makes up another plan to invade Congo. Rwanda is roled by a crasy guy. does he think he will fool anybody by attacking from Bukavu instead of Goma? both towns are at rwandan borders! This will lead to his end.

    Yewe Kamali Aloys alias Umurerwa!

So, you are hiding behind the internet and using two names thinking that you will not be discovered! I do not know where you are located, but you must be aware that the Internet was invented in the United States of America, the home of AfroAmerica Network. So, do no try to cheat anymore. You will be discovered. As far as I am concerned, based on this, your comments have no value at all.
Anyway, MRND is dead, Habyarimana is dead, CDR is dead, MDR -PARMEHUTU is dead, UNAR is dead. In the new Rwanda, Hutus from North, Hutus from South, Tutsis from Uganda, Moderate Hutus, Moderate Tutsis and all the bullshit contained in your e-mail are past history. They only still reside in the minds of narrow minded people.
Do you think you can use these nonsense statements and conjectures to further divide the Rwandan people or the people seeking democracy in Rwanda? No! Try something else. Instead of talking about democracy and how we can move forward, you are taking people back to 20, 40, and 60 years ago.
    Stop the nonsense.

    Yeremiya.

I think that this article is a joint production by DMI and extremist hutus (from former MRND and CDR). But not a coordinated production but an action where the writer was inspired by both hutu-extremist and tutsi extremists of DMI separately, each trying to achieve an independent agenda. So the writer produced what DMI wanted him to produce and what the extremist guys from former MRND wanted him or her to produce. The author might even have cooked the information regarding his/her sources just to beautify his news, with intention to divert peopl’s attention to a new and real opposition that may be taking birth now. This article is full ofnonsense.

Some people still think that only extremist rwandans have the place in politics. Such a time is over. MRND and RPF to hell; and such people who thing non-extremist opposition is an extension of the DMI are just living in history. Of course there are also tutsis (extremist) thinking that not supporting RPF is equivalent to propagating genocidal ideology. They would certainly produce an article very identical or similar to this one. Utari umu hutu extremiste wo mu majyaruguru wese aba ari ikitso cya FPR-Inkotanyi! Poor Rwanda, who will liberate you fro such ill-ideological minds? Those from the North who are not extremist are now RPF-Ibyitso? ANd all the other hutus and Tutsis are RPF Ibyitso? Yewe Nta ntambara muzatsinda mugitekereza mutyo. NImuhindure imitima yanyu, dore Abahutu n’abatutsi benshi babatanze umushi, Mwe na FPR musigaye mu butindi mutazakira nimutabyiteramo. Iyi Article ni iyo kwamaganwa. Ngirango na FPR yasengereye uwayanditse ariko? Aha niho FPR ivugira rumwe na FDLR n’abandi ba extremistes. Muritonde banyarwanda mutazayoba kubera inkuru nk’izi! Nimuhaguruke turwanyirize hamwe igitugu tumazemo 40 years (MRND + RPF).

    Thanks Alex for your comment.

This funny article or reflexion is self explanatory. It is tthe product Hutu power extremists . They thing no one from non-extremist peiple can build a serious opposition against the RPF regime which is little different (or to be more correct a genuine twin sister with MRND as regards the authoritarianism and criminal acts they both imposed to Rwandans). These extremist people are trying nothing else but attempting to stop rwandans from supporting non-extremist opposers to rpf; tHEY THINK MODERATE HUTUS AND MODERATE TUTSIS, do not have the right to fight for freedom of all. They think RPF is an extremist tutsi-led mouvement which needs to be fought and replaced by an extremist hutu-led mouvement as to repeat the vicious circle of the recent Rwanda, where MRND evil-ruling [ethnicity and regionalism favouring the hutus from extrem Nort-West] (with hutu extremism and regional seggregation disease) was replaced by the evil-RPF [also suffering from the same disease] (Tutsi ethnic and Uganda origin extremism).

    Hello guys, chill!
There is a world of difference between saying that somebody’s statements are rubbish and qualifying the person you disagree with of genocidaire. The first one is an opinion, the second is an accusation or character assassination.
In any case, I do not know what you are disagreeing about.
Is Rwandan President Kagame considered as a dictator and tyrant? Yes, overwhelmingly, and across the media around the world, including the main stream, reputed news media and research reports. It is not just AfroAmerica Network.
Is he a misunderstood democrat? Perhaps. But his public actions and reactions may not do him justice.
Does he have a problem? Yes, massive problems. When a president of a tiny poor county like Rwanda is being isolated on the international scene, he has serious issues that require soul searching. He just himself finally agreed on CNN, actually confirming what AfroAmerica has been saying for quite sometime, that he has a problem.
Are Alex and Muzabaze helping him by being on the defensive and assassinating people’s characters? I do not think so.
Does Rwandan President Kagame still have options? His options are limited for now. He went too far. His best options is to democratize his country, call in and negotiate with the most staunch opposition leaders, and genuinely reconcile with his neighbors.
Sorry Alex, Muzabaze, Victor and Mwenze. President Kagame has exhausted the stock of goodwill from the international community. It is up to him and how visionary he prove tol be.

Mwnze Kisimba, would you please translate you statements in African language, for all of us?
    JW.

  • Victor Tembwe January 29, 2013, 6:41 am

Mwenze , just be serious my friend you do not need to say to your brother that your statement is rubbish . You have to know how to correct others . The intelligence and wisdom both are going together . If you are intelligent ,try also to be wise .
    All the best.

    • Mwenze Kisimba January 29, 2013, 11:02 pm

      @Victor:
my job is not to educate people. Alex is mixing facts and ideas. This is absurd, hence rubbish. No wonder why he appears confused. If you are into intelligence and wisdom, why didn’t you tell Muzabaze to stop calling others genocidaires, just because they criticize his beloved dictator? Nyani haoni kundule, huliona la mwenziwe.

@Muzabaze. You may like Paul Kagame. It is your right. But let others express their opinions. Anyway, character assassination does not help. Neither you nor your idol.
You guys think that massacring Congolese is a game and you dare to criticize others! Wait, ngoombe avunjikapo guu hurejea zizini

      Mwenze Kisimba.

  • Muzabaze January 29, 2013, 5:44 am

    Alex,
It is only rubbish ideas from poor and so called journalists. Anyway, it is from an abundant heart that speaks the mount. Afroamerica is full of haterage to Rwanda and His President. The arm they have is to write blablabala but let me tell you: even your collegues genociders failed.
    Stupid and rubbish is afroamerica

  • Mwenze Kisimba January 29, 2013, 5:03 am

    Alex,
how and when did facts become ideas? Your statement is rubbish!
Instead of building his country, Paul Kagame is destroying it. Instead of talking to his armed opposition as other leaders in the region have done to resolve conflicts in their countries, he is creating militia: RCD-Goma, Jules Mutebutsi, CNDP, M23, and now this! Yes, you put it right, future will prove how Paul Kagame has been the worst leader the region, if not the entire Africa, has ever known. Mwenze.

  • alex January 28, 2013, 1:17 pm

For the first time I have seen Afroamerica going bankrupt in ideas! This article is one of the very rare irrelevant you have published. am sorry to say but future will prove you wrong.
