Rwandan Ruling Party, RPF, Plans to Seize Property From Congolese-Rwandan Citizens

Sources within the office of the Secretary General of the ruling party, Rwandan Patriotic Front (RPF), inform AfroAmerica Network that the RPFis finalizing a plan to expropriate businessmen who have a dual Rwandan-Congolese citizenship and confiscate their property to the benefits of the party. AfroAmerica Network has obtained the list of the people targeted. The list is given below, along with the plates and number of the vehicles to be seized, the phone numbers, the function and where these business people are frequently found. For reasons related to the security of the individuals, AfroAmerica Network has blanked out names, the plates and phone numbers.

According to the sources, the Rwandan Patriotic Front and Rwandan intelligence services suspected these businessmen of supporting the breakaway ex-CNDP faction that has rejected Kigali’s influence. The leaders of the breakaway group are competing against Kigali’s protege General Bosco Ntaganda, a FARDC commander who is accused of war crimes and crimes against humanity by the International Criminal Tribunal at the Hague.
The persons targeted by RPF are also suspected of funding and being part of the armed rebellion allegedly being organized by the Rwandan dissident General Kayumba Nyamwasa and Colonel Patrick Karegeya.
Some of the targets were close to a Tutsi business man, who had also dual citizenship, Denis Ntare Semadwinga, assassinated, allegedly by a hit squad sent by General Ntaganda, on June 20, 2010 in his house in Gisenyi. The hit squad, wearing Rwandan military uniforms, stabbed him to death.
